Cathleen (Cathy) Marie Wedmore (Henry) was born in 1956 in Sioux City Iowa.
Cathy passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at her home in Lawton Iowa, after fighting a battle with cancer and kidney failure.
Cathy grew up on a family farm in Kingsley, IA with her parents (Duane and Patty Henry) and two brothers Duane (Skip) and David Henry and one sister, Sandra Henry. This is where she learned her love for the farming industry and her passion for cooking and baking. Cathy graduated from Kingsley-Pierson High School in 1975.
She married the love of her life, Dennie Wedmore on October 25,1975. They had one son together Christopher, born in 1979.
Cathy worked for years at JCPenney as the switchboard operator. Then found her calling at the Kingsley Coop as a grain merchandiser. She then went on to Hinton Coop to work as grain merchandiser and truck dispatcher. Her final job was with Winter Feedyard and later would be Bull Creek Feedyard.
She attended First Lutheran Church of Kingsley, IA and Immaculate Conception of Sioux City, IA.
Cathy is survived by her spouse, Dennis Wedmore and her son, Chris (Shayla) Wedmore of Bellevue NE. She was a proud grandmother to Christopher “Jordan”, Kalynn, Coltyn, Abbie, Sadie, Marcus, and Maxsen and great grandchild Waylon. She is also survived by her brothers, Duane ‘Skip” and Nicollet of Hawthorne NV, David Henry of Kingsley IA, brother-in-law Jerry (Theresa) Wedmore, sister-in-law Janice (Dave) Shupe all of Lawton IA, along with many nieces and nephews.
Cathy is proceeded in death by her parents Duane and Patty Henry and her sister Sandra Henry, and her in-laws Darrell and Elvina Wedmore.
Services will be held on Monday, August 5th at Rohde Funeral Home at 2:00PM with visitation starting at 12:00PM to 1:30PM. Memorials can be directed to the family or Hospice of the Midwest-Sioux City.
