Elaine Creasey

Spirit Lake, Iowa:     Elaine Creasey passed away at the age of 95 on December 9, 2021 at Keelson Harbour Senior Living in Spirit Lake, Iowa. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Kingsley Cemetery, Kingsley, Iowa.  There will be no visitation.  The family requests that memorials be directed to a charity of their choice.

Elaine Creasey passed away at the age of 95 on December 9, 2021 at Keelson Harbour Senior Living in Spirit Lake, Iowa.  Elaine was born  Florence Elaine Franklin in Kingsley, Iowa, on May 15,1926, the daughter of John and Florence (Johnson) Franklin.  She graduated from Kingsley High School in 1943 and took a secretarial position with Attorney William Creasey.  She married William C. Creasey on August 5, 1945 in Kingsley at the home of her mother.  She dropped her first name Florence, having always been known as Elaine.  She continued to work for William every tax season at Creasey & Metcalf until William’s retirement.

 

 

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, her son Robert Craig Creasey, a grandson, John Robert Creasey, her sister Marvel (Franklin) Simons , her brothers Darrell, Laurel and Stanley Franklin, She is survived by her son William (Kay)  F. Creasey, of Muscatine, IA, her son Stephen (Lori) J. Creasey, Plymouth, MN, six grandchildren, David (Erin) Creasey, West Des Moines, IA, Ann Creasey, Iowa City, IA, Andrew Creasey, Waterloo, IA, Megan Creasey, Minneapolis,  MN, Kaitlyn Creaasey, Teton Village, WY, W. Blake Creasey, Cambridge, MA., and one great grandson, Will Erkan.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

 

Elaine was a resident of Kingsley until she moved to Spirit Lake in 2017.  She enjoyed her summers at the Creasey lake home on West Lake Okoboji.  She was a member of the Congregational Church and a founding member of the Kingsley Chapter of the TTT Society. She enjoyed hosting card parties in Kingsley, and deck parties at the lake.  She was a talented needle pointer and has left her family with many treasured heirlooms.
