Jerrod D. Schweitzberger

Jerrod Dean Schweitzberger, age 37, passed away June 26, 1924, at St. Luke’s Unity Point in Sioux City, IA. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. Both services will be at Rohde Funeral Home, Kingsley, IA. 

Jerrod was born June 22, 1987, in Sioux City, IA to Gerald Schweitzberger and Darnell (Sitzmann) Ruba. He worked as a trucker, carpenter, roofer and other odd jobs. After his father died, he was lost and couldn’t find himself. Jerrod was loved and a good friend to many throughout his life. He was soft hearted, kind, gentle an all-around good guy. His love for his precious daughter, Lucy, remains deep in his heart. He loved spending time with Lucy, competing with his brother, fishing with his mom, BS-ing with his stepdad, tinkering with cars and anything else to get dirty.

Jerrod is survived by his daughter, Lucy Schweitzberger, Smithland, IA, His mom and Stepdad, Darnell (Roger) Ruba, Kingsley, IA, brother, Heath (Jen) Schweitzberger, Benny and Zollie, Sioux City, IA, stepsister’s, Amy Beach and Rachael (Eric) Roach, stepbrother, Adam Whitehill, special little friend, Emma Johnson, special friend, Cassie Hoffman, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Scheitzberger, grandparents, Ralph and Eldora Sitzmann, Harold and Betsy Schweiztberger, aunts, Diane Harrington and Karen Schmid, cousins, Matthew Schweitzberger and Blake Sitzmann, best friends, Jared Robinson, Chad Groepper and Lane Wilson.
