Kingsley, Iowa: Marilyn Jean Hamman, 79, of Sioux City, Iowa formerly of Kingsley passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Kingsley, Iowa, with Reverend Mark Stoll officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, with a Rosary at 5:30 p.m. , a Scripture wake service @ 7:00 p.m. , family present 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. all at the Rohde Funeral Home in Kingsley , Iowa . Condolences to the family can be directed to www.rohdefh.com. Marilyn was born on August 18, 1934, the daughter of Hume and Dorothy (Rochester) Ferguson. She grew up in the Sioux City area, graduating from the Hinton Community School. She married William H. Hamman on June 5, 1954, in Kingsley, Iowa. After their marriage they farmed and raised their family in the Kingsley area. Later on she worked for the Kingsley Nursing Home as a CNA/CMA. In 1995 they retired from farming and moved to the James area which is a part of Sioux City, Iowa. Her most enjoyable moments were spending time with her kids and grandchildren, playing marbles, kid's games, doing crafts, and watching movies with them. Also her coffee brunches with close friends, and attending Senior's at Hinton reminiscing with school friends. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Kingsley, Iowa. Survivors include five daughters, Suzanne (Mike) Vande Hoef of LeMars, Iowa, Kathy Lang of Sioux City, Debbie (Forrest) Lambson of Sioux City, Iowa, Diane Fulton (fiance, Michael Payne) of Allen, Texas, and Patti (Steve) Polkinghorn of Moville, Iowa, and one son, Mike (Jenny) Hamman of Kingsley, Iowa. Marilyn is survived by eleven grandchildren and seven great - grandchildren. Also surviving Marilyn are three brother-in-laws, Wayne (Roberta) Hamman of Libertyville, Illinois, Francis (Linda) Hamman, and James (Millie) Hamman both of Kingsley, Iowa, and two sister-in-laws, Darlene (Rex) Shearer of Storm Lake, Iowa and Helen (Roy) Townsend of Washta, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Hamman on January 4, 2014, her parents, Hume and Dorothy Ferguson, brother, Don Ferguson, and nephews Jim Hamman and John Hamman.
