Max J. Stevens, 90, was born November 1, 1922, on a Kingsley farm, son of Frank and Mary (Bainbridge) Stevens. He attended Kingsley School from kindergarten through high school.He married the woman of his dreams, Phyllis Mae Spies, April 17, 1943. Max and Phyllis farmed in the Kingsley area and raised their children, Connie and Phil. Max was a hard-working farmer as well as a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend to many.He was a faithful member of the First Congregational Church of Kingsley. Max farmed for over 40 years and then moved to the town of Kingsley in 1985, where he followed in his father's footsteps once again and took up carpentry and roofing. Preceding him in death were his wife Phyllis (October 2009), his parents, sisters Fern and Ethel, brother Melvin, in-laws Jeanette and Russell, Gerry and LaVerne, Jack, and Mike. Those who remain to cherish his smile and wry sense of humor are daughter Connie Stephens of Tulsa, her sons Shayne and Scott (Jennifer) Stephens, son Phil (Karen) and their children Natalie (Dan) Felt, Dustin (Jessica), Jason (Sara) Stevens, twelve great grandchildren, brother-in-law Duane Spies, sister-in-law Dorothy Spies of Hinton, and several nieces and nephews.Max entered into rest December 18th and his celebration of life will be held at the Kingsley First Congregational Church Saturday, December 29, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev.
