Michael “Mike” R. Hagan, 68 of Kingsley passed away, Thursday, November 7, 2024,
in Sioux Falls, SD surrounded by his family following a short battle with cancer.
Mike was born March 11, 1956, Le Mars, IA the son of Robert and Helen (Schroeder) Hagan.
Mike grew up in Kingsley graduating from Kingsley-Pierson High School in 1974. Mike and
Joan Beelner were united in marriage May 27, 1978, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kingsley,
IA. Following graduation from WITCC Mike worked at Henning Body Shop in Moville, IA until
he started his own business, Hagan Auto Body which he owned and operated until his
retirement in 2019. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Kingsley Fire
Department for 40 years where he served as fire chief several of those years. Mike was a little
league coach for many years and also an umpire for high school baseball and softball games.
Mike was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing trips with his son
and son-in-law. Mike and Joan spent a lot of time traveling the U.S. with friends on their
motorcycles. Mike was a proud grandpa who loved going to all of their activities and sporting
events.
Survivors include his wife, Joan, daughters, Becky (Josh) Wilson, Kingsley, IA and Lindsay
(Luke) Weyer, Sioux Falls, SD and son, Chris (Kristi) Hagan, Milford, IA, sisters, Patti (Dennis)
Bollin, Le Mars, IA, Leanne (Norm) Seablom, Pierson, IA, Kathy Johnson, Kingsley, IA, brothers,
Dan (Donna) Hagan, Kingsley, IA and Jeff (Lynda) Hagan, Kailua, HI, grandchildren, Evyn and
Reese Wilson, Colby, Colton and Cody Hagan, Avery and Emerson Weyer, and several nieces
and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen, in-laws, Don and Sylvia Beelner,
brothers-in-law, Rick Beelner and Mark Clark and niece, Mindy Beelner
