Kingsley, Iowa. Stanley "Stan" N. Nilles, 81, passed away, Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center, Sioux City, IA. Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 28, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kingsley, IA. Burial will be at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, with a military graveside conducted by American Legion Nash Post 140 of Kingsley, IA. Visitation will be Wednesday, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary being said at 5:00 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus, the family will be present during the visitation and there will be a Wake Scripture service at 7:00 p.m. all at the Rohde Funeral Home.
Stan was born July 26, 1936, Remsen, IA, the son of Peter and Olga (Krieps) Nilles. He graduated from Remsen St. Mary’s High School, after graduation he served the U. S. Army until his honorable discharge. Stan and Shirley Sanow were united in married on December 29, 1958. Following their marriage, they made their home in Kingsley, IA, where they raised their family. Stan owned and operated his own business, Nilles Service which later became Stan’s Heating & Air, for 40 years until his retirement.
Stan was member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, where he was a 4th degree Knight, American Legion Nash Post 140 of Kingsley and VFW of Remsen, IA.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, Kingsley, daughters, Tammy (Tony) Paskert, Remsen, and Lisa (Tim) Carlson, Kingsley, and son, Joe (Nanci) Nilles, Duluth, Georgia, seven grandchildren, Luke (Kelli) Paskert, Becky (Mike) Berkenpas, Randi (Jonathan)Nilles- Russell, Katie (Justin) Frericks, Austin (Lyndsie) Carlson, Kelsey Paskert and Taylor (Bobby) Kempers, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Also, four brothers, Dennis (Bev) Nilles, Peter (Judy) Nilles, Mark (Jean) Nilles all of LeMars, Tony (Julie) Nilles of Minnesota, and one sister, Clarice Bainbridge, LeMars, and one sister-in-law, Florence Nilles of Remsen, several nieces and nephews.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, three
sisters, Marcella Hansen, Betty Nilles and Ruth Grage, two brothers, Lorne and George.
