Sylvia A. Lindgren

Sylvia A. Lindgren, 75 of Kingsley passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen, IA.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at First Lutheran Church, Kingsley, IA.  Burial will be at Kingsley Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:00 -- 7:00 p.m. Monday with family present and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Rohde Funeral Home, Kingsley, IA.

Sylvia was born November 29, 1947, Lamoure, ND the daughter of Marvin and Lenore (Ketterling) Heyl. As a young child her family moved to LeMars, IA where Sylvia graduated from LeMars Community School in 1966. After high school she attended NBT where she graduated with a degree in accounting. She and Stan Lindgren were united in marriage March 10, 1968 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in LeMars, IA. Sylvia was baptized August 5, 1951 and confirmed June 2, 1963. Following their marriage, Sylvia and Stan moved to rural Kingsley where they farmed and raised their family. Sylvia had been never involved with farming until she married Stan. They worked together on various farm projects with Sylvia learning quickly on raising livestock and grain. In 1994 Sylvia became the manager of Pizza Hut in Kingsley, IA which she managed until 2011 when it closed.

Sylvia was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid of First Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Stan, sons, Mike (Megan) Lindgren; and Dreysen (Kalin) Lindgren, Alayna, Denver and Ryder Lindgren, daughters, Kim (Brad) Tusa, Gavin, Caden and Landon Tusa; Nikki (Curt) Motz, Shaylee Foster, Addi Foster and Brynlee Motz and Taylor Lindgren.

Sylvia was preceded in death by parents, Marvin and Lenore Heyl, parents-in-law, John and Elna Lindgren and her son-in-law, Aaron Foster.
