Wilbur Roy Boggs, 82, of Kingsley passed away Thursday,August 2, 2012 at Kingsley Nursing & Rehab Center in Kingsley, surroundedby family. Wilbur was born March 22, 1930 in rural Lawton, Iowa, the son of Roy and Lola (Galusha) Boggs. He attended country school in rural Lawton. He was drafted in to the U.S. Army in 1951 and served during the Korean War. Wilbur married JoAnn Collins on February 18, 1954. Wilbur was a volunteer fireman for the Kingsley Fire Dept., a Kingsley Police Officer and worked for Plymouth County until retiring in 1994. He had a lovefor anything associated with horses. In his younger years, Wilbur enjoyed coon hunting and in his later years going to the casino and eating at Anthon.He and JoAnn cherished Friday night suppers with friends. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 years, JoAnn, children, Terri (Mike) Wellenstien, Gary (Kitty) Boggs, Barry (Judy) Boggs, Jerry (Shelley)Boggs; sister, Lorraine Ugulano of Azusa, CA, brother, LeRoy(Carla) Boggs of Moville, IA, brothers-in-law Jack Wiggs of Springfield, CA, Chuck Collins of Pocatello, ID and Jim Jones of Kingsley, IA, sister-in-law, Karen Lansink. Grandchildren Shanna Perez, Tiffany Zermeno-Lopez, Joana Martinez, Alissa Boggs, Christen Wellenstein, Crystal Wellenstein, Nick Boggs, Nathan Boggs, and Alyssa Boggs, seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lola Boggs, sisters, Naomi(Jean) Boggs and Vivian Wiggs, a grandson, Juan ZermenoMemorials may be directed to the family.
